The Lahore Development Authority has continued its initiative to provide residential and commercial plots to citizens on easy installments under the directions of LDA Director General Tahir Farooq. As part of this process, the fifth computerized balloting of LDA’s residential and commercial plots was held at the LDA Sports Complex in Johar Town.
The balloting included fully developed residential and commercial plots located in Johar Town, LDA City, Allama Iqbal Town and LDA Enclave Mohlanwal. According to the LDA, successful applicants will pay for the plots through 12 equal installments over a period of three years.
The plots offered in the balloting included 4 marla commercial plots in LDA City Business Bay Block, 2 to 2.5 marla commercial plots in Johar Town Blocks M, N and F1, 3.11 marla commercial plots in the Fruit Market of Allama Iqbal Town, 3.5 marla residential plots in Johar Town Block R1 and 3 marla residential plots in Block D of LDA Enclave Mohlanwal.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq said the authority is providing plots located in its schemes to citizens on easy installments over three years. He said the initiative offers citizens a valuable opportunity to acquire fully developed residential and commercial plots on convenient terms. He added that the LDA would soon bring more plots to the market on easy installments.
According to the LDA, a total of 3,341 applications were received to participate in the balloting for 126 residential and commercial plots. The authority received 279 applications for 12 commercial plots in Allama Iqbal Town, 523 applications for 29 commercial plots in Johar Town and 692 applications for 33 residential plots in Johar Town.
Similarly, 688 applications were received for 22 commercial plots in LDA City Business Bay, while 1,159 applications were submitted for 30 residential plots in LDA Enclave Mohlanwal. The balloting was conducted through a computerized system with the support of the Punjab Information Technology Board.
A large number of citizens attended the ceremony, while chief town planners, the chief IT officer, directors of housing and other relevant officials were also present.

Green Park in Chunian is gradually falling into severe neglect and turning into a deteriorated public space, prompting residents to demand its immediate restoration and improved safety arrangements.
According to local residents, the lack of maintenance, cleanliness, and basic facilities has significantly reduced the park’s usability, affecting families, women, and children who once used it as a recreational area.
Citizens also expressed concern that due to inadequate security arrangements, the park has increasingly become a gathering point for anti-social activities, creating discomfort and safety concerns for nearby residents and visitors.
Residents have appealed to the government and relevant authorities to ensure the restoration of the park, improved lighting, better cleanliness, boundary repairs, and effective security measures to make the area safe and functional again.
Locals believe that public parks are an essential part of urban life, and the revival of Green Park Chunian is necessary not only for public convenience but also for promoting healthier community spaces and social activities.

Deputy Commissioner Kasur Muhammad Asif Raza, along with PD Shahid Zaman Lak, visited ongoing Punjab Development Program (PDP) projects in Pattoki to review progress on development works across multiple locations.
During the visit, officials provided a detailed briefing on the status of ongoing schemes, project progress, quality standards, and land utilization matters related to development activities. Authorities also assured the timely completion of projects while maintaining construction quality standards.
Under the Punjab Development Program, several development works are currently underway in Pattoki, including road construction and rehabilitation, sewerage system improvement, drainage infrastructure, urban development upgrades, and other essential public facilities.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure that land allocated for development is utilized according to approved planning standards and that all projects are completed with transparency, quality, and efficiency.
He further emphasized the importance of effective monitoring to ensure citizens benefit from improved infrastructure and civic facilities at the earliest possible stage.
These projects are being viewed as an important step toward better urban planning, organized land development, and infrastructure improvement in Pattoki.
