Punjab Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, visited Jhang to conduct a detailed review of ongoing development projects in the district. During the visit Managing Director WASA Jhang, Sohail Raza, briefed the Secretary on the progress of major infrastructure schemes. The Secretary was informed about the reconstruction of five disposal stations, ongoing work on a 157 kilometre sewerage network and the development of a 4 kilometre rainwater drainage system.
He directed the concerned authorities to ensure the timely completion of all schemes and emphasized that streets and roads should be developed in a dust free and aesthetically pleasing manner. Noor-ul-Amin Mengal also instructed officials to ensure the use of high quality construction materials and to strictly implement safety measures for workers and residents at construction sites. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that he is personally visiting development projects across the province on the directions of the Chief Minister of Punjab.
He further noted that large scale sewerage rehabilitation projects have been introduced in districts across Punjab to improve urban infrastructure. Deputy Commissioner Jhang, Ali Akbar Bhinder, accompanied the Secretary during the visit.

Following the special directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, PHA Lahore has officially commenced citywide decoration and beautification activities in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan. Liberty Chowk and other prominent city locations are being enhanced with special lighting and Ramadan-themed Islamic-style monuments, which aim to not only beautify the city but also create a dignified and spiritual ambiance in celebration of Ramadan.
On this occasion, MD PHA Raja Mansoor Ahmed stated that in line with the Chief Minister’s vision, the city is being made cleaner, greener, and more beautiful, while special arrangements are being ensured for religious and cultural occasions. He directed the relevant officers to complete all decoration and lighting arrangements on time and with high quality, so that the city of Lahore shines in a spiritual, dignified, and visually stunning manner at the start of Ramadan.PHA Lahore is utilizing all available resources to provide citizens with the best facilities while enhancing the overall beauty of the city.

This step reflects the government’s commitment to maintaining momentum in the construction of homes for deserving families and providing them with a roof of their own. According to the spokesperson, more than 121,000 families have so far been provided with interest-free loans, while over 26,000 additional families will be able to receive installment payments immediately. At present, more than 43,000 houses are under construction across the province, demonstrating the scale and pace of the program.
The spokesperson further stated that more than Rs. 172 billion has been spent so far on house construction under the program, while over Rs. 6 billion has been successfully recovered. In addition, more than 112,000 families have been issued the second installment to complete the construction of their homes.
The government has set a target of constructing 500,000 houses over the next five years, which will be achieved in phases. According to the spokesperson, a large number of deserving families are benefiting from the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program, and the loan disbursement process has been kept simple, transparent, and merit-based.
The spokesperson added that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision is truly transforming lives, and the program is proving to be a significant step toward social and economic stability in the province.
