Managing Director of the Parks and Horticulture Authority Lahore, Zahid Parvez Warraich, visited Jilani Park and reviewed various facilities being provided to citizens.
During the visit, the managing director inspected the bonsai garden, lake, gymnasium, jogging track and the park’s main entrance. He also conducted a detailed review of other public amenities available at the park.
Project Director Waqar Rehman briefed the managing director on the park’s administrative arrangements, maintenance activities and ongoing improvement measures.
Zahid Parvez Warraich directed the concerned officials to further improve cleanliness, horticulture and public facilities across the park. He said that providing citizens with a high quality, safe and pleasant recreational environment remained the foremost priority of PHA Lahore.
He further instructed officials to give special attention to all matters necessary for developing Jilani Park into a model recreational destination in Lahore. He stressed that the provision of the best possible facilities to visitors must be ensured under all circumstances.

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has issued a precautionary advisory for citizens ahead of Monsoon 2026, particularly for the owners and occupants of dilapidated and dangerous buildings.
The advisory states that people should not live in deteriorating buildings, structures with weak roofs, damaged balconies or other unsafe premises during the rainy season. Citizens have also been advised to avoid unnecessary movement near such buildings.
According to the LDA, rainfall increases the risk of weakened and dilapidated buildings collapsing, potentially causing loss of precious lives and damage to property. Citizens have been urged to immediately report any dangerous building or emergency situation to the relevant authorities so that timely action can be taken.
In its statement, the LDA said that action against dilapidated and dangerous buildings is continuing in compliance with the directives of the Lahore High Court. All concerned owners and residents have been urged to act responsibly and adopt appropriate safety measures to prevent any unfortunate incident.

Chief Executive Officer of the Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab), Imran Amin, has commended the authority's infrastructure resilience during the ongoing monsoon season and directed project teams to accelerate development work at CBD NSIT City, Pakistan's first and largest dedicated information technology city.

CBD Punjab officials highlighted the successful performance of the authority's engineering and drainage infrastructure during recent heavy rains. According to the authority, CBD Route 47 remained fully operational and accessible to traffic despite receiving 263 millimetres of rainfall, while several other parts of Lahore experienced significant waterlogging. Officials described the performance as evidence of the effectiveness of the project's resilient engineering design and modern drainage systems.
Speaking during the visit, Imran Amin said CBD Punjab remains committed to delivering modern infrastructure capable of performing under challenging environmental conditions. He noted that the uninterrupted operation of Route 47 during intense monsoon rainfall reflected the authority's focus on quality construction, resilient engineering and sustainable urban planning.
