President of the Traders Association Rana Shafiq ur Rehman appealed to the government, highlighting that shades installed by shopkeepers in the main market of Chunian to protect against sun and rain were recently removed during a Pera force anti-encroachment operation, creating significant difficulties for both traders and customers.
He emphasized that the purpose of these shades was solely to provide shade, and with the arrival of summer, shopkeepers and shoppers are now struggling with extreme heat while carrying out business and purchases.
Rana Shafiq ur Rehman urged the authorities to either provide an immediate solution to this issue or allow shopkeepers to reinstall their shades to ensure smooth business operations and a comfortable shopping environment.

The bypass connecting Pattoki and Chunian has fallen into a state of disrepair, creating serious difficulties for daily commuters and residents.
Locals report that the road is riddled with potholes, cracks, and partially unpaved, severely affecting traffic flow. They highlighted that the bypass is a critical artery in the region, heavily used by passenger vehicles and cargo transport every day.
Residents and commuters have urged authorities to prioritize urgent repairs and full reconstruction of the bypass to ensure smoother traffic movement and alleviate travel-related difficulties.
Community members emphasized that improving the road infrastructure would not only ease commuting but also support local trade and economic activities in the region.

A meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Asif Raza reviewed progress on ongoing beautification projects across the district, focusing on improving the city’s appearance and enhancing public spaces.
During the meeting, officials examined various initiatives, including the rehabilitation of parks, plantation drives, and urban beautification measures aimed at improving the overall civic environment. Relevant departments were directed to expedite work on ongoing development projects and ensure timely completion.
The deputy commissioner said the initiatives were being implemented in line with the vision of the Government of Punjab to promote cleaner and more aesthetically appealing urban spaces while improving public facilities for residents.
Officials from concerned departments also briefed the meeting on the progress of different beautification and development schemes underway in various parts of the district.
