The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) launched a major crackdown against defaulters, sealing multiple factories in Lahore. According to a spokesperson, the operation was carried out on Water Land Road in Saggian under the supervision of enforcement and building control officials.
During the operation, Nadeem Printing Press and Soft Shoes Factory were sealed for non-payment of commercial dues.
Officials stated that some individuals attempted to interfere with the operation and obstruct government officials. Legal action has been initiated against those involved, and a case has been registered.

The Punjab Transport Company has released a progress report on the establishment of tuck shops at various bus stops across the city under the Empower Project. The initiative aims to provide employment opportunities to underprivileged women and promote their economic empowerment.
Under the project, the tuck shops are being handed over to deserving women, with selection and support facilitated through the Akhuwat Foundation.
The first phase of the project was completed in December last year, during which 10 tuck shops were established. In February, an additional 11 shops were completed, followed by another 11 becoming operational in March under the third phase. With this, a total of 32 tuck shops are now functional across the city.
To enhance public convenience, Wi-Fi facilities and security cameras have also been installed at these bus stops, ensuring a safer and more accessible environment for commuters.
According to officials, the project marks a significant step toward promoting women’s financial independence while also improving urban infrastructure, creating both economic opportunities and better public services.

The Punjab government has decided to expand the number of charging stations for electric vehicles in Lahore. Adopting the federal government’s policy, the provincial authorities have formulated a strategy to promote the installation of EV charging infrastructure in order to provide improved facilities to citizens.
According to officials, the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for new fuel stations has now been made conditional upon the installation of charging stations. A government spokesperson stated that owners establishing new petrol stations will be required to install at least two charging units. Under the new policy, the installation of charging stations will be mandatory at fuel stations across Lahore and the rest of the province.
He further noted that following recent fuel shortages, there has been a rapid shift among consumers toward electric vehicles, with a growing number of users transitioning to EVs. This shift has made the expansion of charging infrastructure increasingly necessary.
Officials also revealed that under the Punjab government’s e-taxi scheme, any firm providing 20 vehicles will be required to install charging stations free of cost. Upon completion of the scheme, more than 50 charging stations will be available at no cost.
They added that charging facilities for electric buses are already operational, and the government is now focusing on expanding infrastructure for privately owned electric vehicles as well.
